Political and Reform Agendas' Impact on the Supply of Black Teachers

Bass de Martinez provides an overview of the impact of policy decisions, legisla tive mandates, and reform efforts on the supply of Black teachers. The author explores policy events over the last 15 to 20 years and suggests how change in the general populace's view of Black success coupled with a conservative ad ministrative policy have influenced the Black teacher supply.
